Architecture Design

A drawing that includes the structure of the rooms, staircases, and placement of utilities such as water and heating is created before actual construction begins. This skeleton drawing of the building is fleshed out by including the finer details of the interior of your building.

In the second phase, you will select colors, flooring type, decorations, and other additions that make a building attractive and comfortable. In many construction projects, the architecture design service is paid for and carried out by an independent architect, but at Mason-Taylor Construction, we offer this service to our clients at a fraction of the usual cost. Simply tell us the concept of your building and we’ll work together to turn your vision into your dream house.

New Construction / Custom Home Building Company

As the title suggests, new construction involves building a house for a client based on their specifications. This step usually follows the architectural design. In many instances, demolition of an old house on the property is carried out before construction begins.

Many of our clients want to build a new home to replace an older one that they’ve purchased. This means the Mason-Taylor demolition crew has to uproot the foundation of the old building before laying a new one according to the client’s needs and instructions.

Mason-Taylor follows a “critical path” method to source for and ensure that items are ready by a specified date so they can be incorporated into the building as per schedule. For example, cabinets and windows are ordered so that they will arrive and be installed before a specified date and time.

Next, we do an external framing where the skeleton of the building is set up and the wall structure is put in place. After the external framing is done, we move into the internal framing phase where the work within the walls is carried out. These include the plumbing, mechanic, and electrical fittings.

Once the framing is complete, we add the roof and then work on the building’s exterior and finally do the finishing. This final stage involves doing the flooring, cabinet installation, insulation, and other finishing touches.

Complete Home Renovation / Remodel Company

In a complete home renovation or remodeling, the house is demolished but the foundation and a few or at least one of the walls are left intact. Mason-Taylor Construction does complete home renovation within the Santa Monica area.

The main difference between new home construction and complete home renovation is that in the latter, you do not begin a new house from scratch. The renovation also requires less architectural design because in most cases, the floor is left unchanged.
